Partner up! Partner Stretching and Restorative Sound Healing

Join Andre and Brianna for a fun and restorative afternoon of Partner Stretching, Therapeutic Touch, and Restorative Sound Healing!

In this introductory workshop, we’ll invite possibilities for connection and collaboration where we’ll center our intentions and integrate our actions from a place of love for self and each other. Participants will be guided through a series of gentle assisted stretches, simple weight sharing poses, and therapeutic techniques that encourage trust, communication, and hopefully a little playfulness and joy along the way! Partner yoga is a unique practice that can enhance flexibility, strength, and well-being through cultivating collaboration as partners support and uplift each other through the shared journey. We will also explore opportunities for self-care through therapeutic touch, as we practice the balance of caring for ourselves in relationship with others.

After the partner experience, Brianna will guide participants into a few restorative yoga postures while Andre offers an immersion of therapeutic sounds such as Himalayan and crystal bowls, gong, buffalo drum, and more. These resonant vibrations can support a meditative state, harmonize energy, release tension, and facilitate a sense of relaxation.

This workshop is suitable for individuals of all levels, whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice. No prior experience in partner yoga or sound therapy is required. We will offer modifications and options to accommodate various abilities and uplift an environment of playfulness and trust.

Please note the use of the word ‘partner’ is open to friends, collaborators, colleagues, lovers, etc…

About Andre Ignacio Dimapilis (he/him)

Andre is a Filipinx-American culture-bearing performance artist, sound facilitator, and peaceful warrior. Andre’s journey with sound started in 2007 with the didgeridoo, performing on stage with blues, funk, hip-hop and dance artists. Then, he shifted his focus to communicating with the divine by blowing spirit through the didgeridoo during meditations. While listening to divine Spirit and intuition, Andre was guided to use other indigenous and traditional instruments for setting intentions during ritual, ceremony, and spiritual work. He is the founder of Kalayaan Sound LLC. Kalayaan is the Filipinx word for freedom, using sound for participants to re-connect and re-member the freedom of their spirit. Andre infuses ancestral wisdom and indigenous knowledge for participants to listen with their body, connect with spirit, and have clear intentions during sound therapy sessions for a personalized and meaningful experience.

The focus on partner stretching and sound healing is a beautiful reminder of the importance of collaborative wellness, which feels like a necessary sanctuary while I navigate the intensive rigors of my current PhD research. Balancing my doctoral studies with a part-time role at last minute assignments has given me a front-row seat to the modern student experience, where the need for physical and mental restoration often clashes with overwhelming technical deadlines and complex projects; having suffered through many high-stress hustles and sleepless nights during my own college days, I am now incredibly conscious of the mental toll that an unmanaged workload can take on one’s stability. This personal history is why I have such a genuine interest in supporting…
