A fundraiser for Nepal Flood Relief

On August 26th, a series of catastrophic flash floods hit the valleys of central-northern Nepal. The flooding disrupted settlements, displaced thousands of people, and created unprecedented ecological damage. Thousands of people lost their lives, and many families are undergoing active search efforts to locate loved ones.

Please join us at the BYMC as we come together to amplify relief efforts to support families in Nepal displaced by the recent flooding. As students, teachers, and practitioners of yoga, we are extremely privileged to engage daily with practices and traditions deeply rooted in the Himalayas, including places like Nepal. Yogic philosophy encourages us to translate our yoga into action- which includes pouring our attention, care, and resources back into the regions and communities that we have so greatly benefited from.

Jihelah Greenwald will be providing a slower, restorative yoga sequence while Paul Foreman performs live music for those who come to donate to the relief funds and practice with us.

Fragrance Notice:

Our studio is a fragrance-free zone. Please avoid wearing or using scented products at the studio. Natural and synthetic scents such as essential oils and scented personal care products, laundry detergents, and perfumes cause debilitating symptoms for some of our community members. Thank you for being a part of creating a more accessible space.

About Jihelah Greenwald (They/She)

Jihelah is a mixed race Filipina, Jewish queer vegetable grower, paraeducator, and yoga practitioner. A student of the elements and relationships, you can find them outside with friends rain and shine, in the kitchen whipping up something delicious with local ingredients and diasporic flavors, disappearing into stories real and fantasy, or petting animals and tuning into breath.

About Paul Foreman

Both have taught him to listen deeply, stay present, and follow what’s happening in the moment. He especially enjoys performing for mindfulness practices, where the audience is not simply listening but actively co-creating the experience.
