Yoga Nidra + Exploring Liminal Shadows

Join Rita for this nourishing 2-week livestream series

Nourish yourself with the potent combination of yoga nidra and shadow exploration with the gorgeous oracle deck “Wisdom of the Shadow.” Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that takes you to the liminal space between wakefulness and sleep. At the start of the class, Rita will share a card from the oracle deck Wisdom of the Shadow. Each nidra will be unique, as students can co-create it by sharing words that resonate for them, as well as what the oracle card inspires. After the nidra, there will be optional time to integrate what the nidra and oracle card communicates through journaling or visual art of your choosing.

In yoga nidra, it is important to find a comfortable reclined position that facilitates rest. Consider gathering the following:

- Blanket and/or socks because our body temperature often drops during relaxation

- Bolsters, cushions, or pillows for under your knees

- Eye pillow or scarf if you like darkness for resting

- Essential oil or lotion for the anointing practice that we do at the start of the second class. (totally optional - we can imagine a pleasant fragrance even if we don't have it on hand)

- Journal, pencil, and other art supplies

- A touchstone: a small item that fits in your palm, that can be any small object that you find reassuring or supportive. A crystal, rosary or mala, a stone from the river

- Water or herbal tea, perhaps a light snack of nuts or dried fruit. This will help you ground after the nidra is over. Blood sugar often drops during deep relaxation. Especially important to keep in mind if you are diabetic!

- Cell phone on silent.
